Your own party at Porter House.
On Saturday, and on Friday in low season, the whole place can be yours: birthdays, company parties, retirement parties or team building. We do not serve food, but you are welcome to bring your own catering or snacks. Venue rental is waived once a certain bar turnover is reached, and we can provide a DJ or you bring your own.

Where is Porter House?
Porter House is at Stalhof 1, 9000 Gent, on the Overpoort, Ghent's main student nightlife street. It is an Irish-pub-style dance bar surrounded by the other student bars.
When is Porter House open?
During the academic year we are usually open Monday to Thursday from 9pm, and Friday from 9pm in high season. During exam periods and holidays we are not open by default, and on sunny days we sometimes open earlier. Saturday is for private hire and Sunday is closed. Check our Instagram for the current hours.

Yes. Porter House is an Irish-pub-style dance bar and student bar on the Overpoort in Ghent. During term time it is mostly students, and Ghent student clubs such as Politeia, VPPK, Chemica and Moederporter are regulars.

Yes. At the weekend the whole place can be yours for a private party: birthdays, company parties, retirement parties or team building. On Friday you can organise something without venue rental as well, though it is not private. Venue rental is waived once a certain bar turnover is reached, and we can provide a DJ or you bring your own.
